Itinerary and Trip Details

Students are guided and coach for airport transfer, granting 2 bottles of water per pax on bus daily. From here, they start in San Jose, and finish at Jaco Beach upon their trip within S.O.L.E. Abroad in Costa Rica.

This trip runs from May 22nd, 2018, to May 28th, 2018, exploring San Jose for 1 night, La Fortuna for 3 nights, and Jaco Beach for 2 nights. The hotels students will be staying in are Hotel Don Carlos (San Jose), Arenal Montechiary (La Fortuna), and Hotel Balcon del Mar (Jaco Beach). At each hotel, breakfast is both included in the cost and served daily, with internet included at the hotel for students staying within them. Hotels are to a include shower, private bathroom, and general amenities for a comfortable stay within the hotels provided.

San Jose is the largest city in Costa Rica, and a social and economical hub for the country. Established in 1890, there is plenty of history and buildings within the city for students to explore. As such, students are given the opportunity to take the San Jose City Tour, to which students are driven and can walk through the Democracy Plaza, the National Museum, the National Court, Los Yoses Neighborhood, San Pedro Mall, Hispanidad Fountain, and the Rodrigo Facio Campus on the University of Costa Rica. These locations showcase the rich history that San Jose has to offer to its visitors, giving students a chance to explore and understand Costa Rica as a country.

Another tour students can participate in is the Hiking Lovers Package, which is a combination tour with Hanging bridges. Students can explore the waterfalls of la Fortuna, and see the wildlife of the tropical floral and fauna. After hiking for relatively 1.9 Miles (3.1 KM), students can have lunch at a local restaurant before embarking on the volcano hike. This is a very educative walk, as the naturalist guide will introduce you to the geological information of the volcano and how the flora has regenerated since the last erruption. Included in the tour is private transportation, a bilingual guide, and an entrance fee and lunch.

Students can expect to spend a day at Jaco Beach, exploring the beautiful coastline and surrounding themselves in the sun and ocean-breezed air. This is a chance for students to explore for themselves and spend the day how they would like it, as Tumlare will offer no services this day, to allow students to spend the day independently.
